INTRODUCTION
You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!
(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)
The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!
And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!
((The Mastermind will introduce themselves at 7pm EST real time.))

[Grimmer waits patiently for a long moment, before realizing that Sigma seems a bit locked up. So he holds out his hand.]
I'm Wolfgang Grimmer. You?
no subject
he does so, but it's possible that the motion is mechanical, as if shaking a robot's hand. ]
Sigma. [ his tone is clipped, as if still cautious. ] That's my only name.
no subject
Well then, Sigma, let me ask you something. Why do you think the people that put us here made the rules they did?
no subject
when he starts speaking, he does so dispassionately, although taking the time to sit down in front of grimmer. ]
Rules one and two are meant to demoralize our group. Rule three... I'm not sure what rule 3 is about. Maybe it's to avoid a lawsuit, though I don't know if anyone here is a lawyer. [ so maybe that one doesn't matter? ] Rule four and six... imply that they're both possible and within our means, but I don't think we should be jumping to do either. Maybe that machine doesn't work properly, or Ianthe will come back to life after some time...and I imagine she wouldn't be in a good mood after getting killed.
[ getting killed is absolutely on sigma's 'would not enjoy' list, so he wouldn't be surprised if it were in ianthe's. ]
As for rule five, I guess it's to make sure that the game isn't over too quickly. It'd be bad for the game if someone went and slaughtered all of us in one go.

[She's some sort of flesh wizard. Scary!!]
I think what you've observed about rule five is telling. For some reason, they want to prevent this from ending too quickly. The question is why. They're calling this a game, but really it's an experiment, don't you think?

[ far, far away, francesca prelati sneezes. ]

Well, either way, the question is what are they looking to get out of it.
no subject
[ plain and simple. ]
I imagine she would repeat this again as many times as they need to. To get more results.

after a couple seconds, he nods. ]
Perhaps. This is likely a place that's so secluded that, even if we did manage to break out, there won't be any civilization surrounding us.
