You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!

(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)

The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!

And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!

[ Sopmod has walked in on Ruby a couple times now, and each time, Ruby has been doing the same thing: sitting on her bed, messing with the radio. The first two times, Ruby has just kind of let Sopmod do her thing, but on the third time, she finally looks up. ]

Did you need something?

[ Ruby's not mad, but she is a bit confused. ]

No, I—

[ she lets out an apologetic noise, then, with a little more frustration: ]

It doesn't make sense! Usually all the little details and parameters of simulations aren't this consistent! But this can't be real, because that means they're not here and I can't have missed them that many times!

[theinstigator]

[ The simulations? ]

I think this is real, [ Ruby says, slowly ] but I guess none of us know for sure.

[ A man sits under the stars, smoking a cigarette and missing his family. The traffic doesn't move. ]

Do you want to take a breather? It'll probably be easier to work it all out when you're not running around.

But my friend, I— I just pulled her out of the water not that long ago, I need to know she's okay!

[ she doesn't know how much time she might be missing— doesn't know how she's even missing that time, but— ]

It's fine. It's fine! I'm not tired, I can keep looking!

[ Oh, no. Ruby doesn't know this person at all, but she does know what it's like to be worried about someone, and missing them. ]

Okay. What does your friend look like? I don't think she's in these rooms, but I'll keep an eye out for her.

Okay! ... Okay. She has black hair with a little white streak in it, right around here—

[ she holds out a lock of her own hair, to indicate the red highlight in her own. ]

—and kind of mismatched honey-gold eyes! One's redder than the other. Ummm, she's probably in a sweater and skirt and yellow rain jacket...?

[ Ruby listens closely. ]

Yeah, I haven't seen her, sorry. But there's more to this place than we're able to access. I'll keep my eye out, but if you can find a way to sneak through some doors, that might not be bad, either.

[ like the kitchen.... ]
