You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!

(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)

The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!

And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!

[ They're from far away from each other! That's all Deena needs to take away from this because if she learns anything more about anything Ruby just said, much like Harry Du Bois talking to some capitalist pig on a boat, she will lose her mcfucking mind!! ]

[ Frankly, the Pale has not been great to Ruby's mind, so she gets it!! ]

Wish I knew. If I could figure out even where we are, that'd be a start. [ Ugh. ] Hey, if you find any tools, like screwdrivers or whatever, could you let me know? It's bad enough that they took my gun. I need something to work with.

[ This reminds her that she had a cop's gun at some point last night and has now misplaced it....... well, it's probably fine! ]

Uh, yeah. Definitely. [ ... ] Are you an engineer or something?

Sort of. [ Engineers go to school for that, Ruby didn't. ] I'm more like a radio operator. I used to work in logistics.

[ Deena nods like she understands this! And, you know, she can sort of grasp the radio operator part, so there's that. Unsurprisingly, she looks down at the radio she's still holding. ]
