You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!

(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)

The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!

And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!

[ Excellent point. Ruby nods, shifting a little so Nio can get a better look at the device. ]

Possibly. It depends how deep underground we are. It's possible that this music is all recorded, which would be... [ ruby sighs ] ...frustrating. I could do more with an actual signal.

Would someone really do that? Just fake a radio broadcast?

[ Hm... ]

I guess we'll just have to see if it repeats.

[theinstigator]

[ would people just go into the vault and lie?? Ruby shrugs. ]

I've faked plenty. [ don't worry about why! ] So far, I haven't heard the same song twice, but it seems like a waste to just listen to this all day.

[ a beat. ]

Do you have a screwdriver?

[ She sort of pats herself down, then gives an apologetic smile. ]

Sorry, school uniform. No pockets.

[ Ruby doesn't look disappointed. ]

Don't worry about it. I think they took most of our things, anyway. I was trying to break into the kitchen to see if they have any tools in there, or anything I can make into a tool.

[ speaking of which: this person isn't that big. ] ...Are you fast, by any chance?

I like to think so!

[ She preens a little. ]

I'm not top of my class or anything, but I'm no slouch at PE!

[theinstigator]

Cool. Then maybe you can beat a robot. I've timed their movements, and we've only got seconds before the doors shut.

[ Ruby starts off in the direction of the kitchen, assuming Nio will follow her. ]

I'm Ruby, by the way.

[ She follows! ]

Nio Hashiri. Nice to meet you, Ruby-san!

[ what a sweet kid... Ruby almost feels bad roping her into this Scheme, except that getting out of here is way more important than any, you know, morals or whatever. ]

[ fortunately, the dining hall isn't that far. Once they're inside: ] Okay, I'm gonna order another slushie. [ don't ask how many times she's done this. ] Once the robot heads for the back, see if you can sneak in with him. You've only got a couple seconds.
