INTRODUCTION
You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!
(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)
The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!
And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!
((The Mastermind will introduce themselves at 7pm EST real time.))

[ A young woman, somewhere around Yor's age, slides onto one of the stools next to her. She looks at the fries, at the slushie, at the baffled expression on Yor's pretty face. ]
Have you ever had one of those before?
[ It's a friendly question, pitched quiet, just between them. ]
no subject
[ At least, she assumed it was like shaved ice, but...slushier. ]
no subject
[ It's not completely wrong, and who's Klaasje to kick someone already down? ]
No cream, more ice. [ She smiles slightly. ] It's easier to drink that way, but be careful. If you do it too fast, you'll get a headache.
You should try it.

[ Yor isn't worried about poison.
Not because poison might not exist, it's just...not something she worries about. ]
no subject
[ Shock, Klaasje thinks. She's sympathetic to the daze, the disorientation. ]
Waste not, want not. Or that's what they say, anyway.
no subject
Oh, are you going to have one as well then, Miss?
no subject
Why not?
[ She widens her smile, sliding off the bar stool. ]
Wait for me, I'll be right back. And you can call me Klaasje.

[ First name basis already, so forward.
As promised, Klaasje's not gone long. She returns with a cherry slushie of her own and slips back into place, propping her elbow on the counter. ]
Not where you expected to wake up, was it?
no subject
[ With her family...who will surely notice her missing?? ]
no subject
[ See? Something in common already. ]
I was waiting for some visitors, and then... [ Poof! A little popping hand gesture. ] And here I am.
no subject
[ She does not fully get universal travel, and likely never will. ]
no subject
[ People might even miss Yor. That's the flipside for nice girls. (Klaasje doesn't get it either, yet.) ]
Do you have anybody waiting for you?
no subject
[ Also maybe the Director...? But she doesn't mention him. ]
no subject
[ Klaasje's voice lilts up, catching some of Yor's enthusiasm. ]
Lucky man. How old is your daughter?
no subject
[ YOR...that's not good grades and yet she's just so proud. ]
no subject
You don't look old enough to have a six year old.
[ She twirls her straw between her fingers, idly. ]
no subject
[ Well, Yor thinks so, anyway. Actually said wife never existed and it's a complete work of fiction but you know. ]
no subject
[ Sympathetic, like she knows anything about that either. ]
That's a lucky six year old, too, then. The things you hear...
[ She shakes her head. ]
no subject
[ Yor loves Anya soooooooo much. ]
Anya is a really wonderful little girl. I'm blessed to have the chance to be part of her family!
no subject
She sounds sweet.
[ Like the traces of cherry flavor on her tongue. ]
You have a reason to look after yourself. Not everyone does.
no subject
But I think everyone has a reason to look after themselves. Even if there isn't anyone waiting, there's always a chance you'll find that sort of person?
no subject
You think so?
[ Soft, soft. ]
But how would you know you hadn't found them yet? What if you already had, and you didn't realize when you did?
Then you'd be waiting your whole life for someone you already missed.
no subject
[ After all, she only found Loid and Anya once she started looking for a fake boyfriend. ]
no subject
[ It's a nice idea, from a nice woman, who has a nice little daughter and a lucky husband and a brother somewhere out there. ]
I suppose the time will pass whether you're looking or waiting.
