Vault 113

You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!

(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)

The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!

And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!

Nope. Whoever brought us here wants us to stay here.

[He staggers up onto his feet, brushing dust off his coat. He looks down at Ruby, his jaw shifted slightly to the side in a displeased expression.]

They could have at least decorated the place a little better. The common room was so.... [He trails off, trying to find the right word.] ....kitschy.

[ Ruby's prepared to glower at their mutual imprisonment, but the insult about the decorations actually makes Ruby smile a little, despite herself. She tries to cover it up as best she can, which is why it mostly looks like a weird smirk, but it's there. ]

What, you don't like the slime-green prison couches? It doesn't make you feel right at home?

Reminds me of my old dentist's office, which is something I definitely associate good memories with.

[He rolls his eyes, shoving his hands into his pockets.]

I'm, um, Nick. By the way. Seeing as we're stuck here for the time being.

[it occurs to me that, up until now, nick absolutely did not introduce himself to anyone in any way and just started questioning them. which tells you a lot.]

[ Ruby didn't either, so. There's that. ]

Ruby. I'd say it was nice to meet you, but I don't think either of us want to be here. [ she shrugs. it's not his fault. ] Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you bust out of here, as long as it's not cop stuff.

Again--not a cop. [He feels that his protest may be in vain.] But will do.
