You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!

(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)

The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!

And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!

[ He leans against the wall. His shoulders shake a little as he emits a small laugh. ]

At least give me your name before you start threatening me. I'm Ji-Woon Hak.

[ He assumes you've heard of him. ]

[Of course he hasn't.]

My name is Carnivac. I don't like to make a habit out of making threats.

[That's not who he is, that's for those who have far more blood to wash from their hands than he.]

If possible, I'd like for us to work together.

[He didn't expect that to be so easily done, but he won't turn down an easy alliance like that.]

[ Ji-Woon glances to each side, leans in, and quietly confesses: ] Nothing.

[Something in Carnivac's veneer cracks, and for a moment he looks just this close to pinching the bridge of his nose. He exhales.]

Seriously. [ This next part is probably an afterthought. ] Sorry.

[There's something of a groaned ugghHHHghh that he tries to hide, for the most part.]

Now I have a new ally, don't I?

[SIGH. Having an ally isn't a bad thing, but...the song and dance of it all.]

Then I assume you also woke up here?

You assume correctly. I see you're a fellow man [ right? ] of taste. Whatever cruel fate lies in wait for us... I wouldn't want to meet it wearing that jumpsuit. I want to look good in my crime scene photos.

[anarchia]

You don’t plan to go down easily, do you?

[Not even judging on the fashion priorities here we are past that point already.]

[jiwoonhak]

Does anyone plan to be easy prey? [ Ji-Woon tilts his head, hand coming to form an inquisitive fist on his chin. ] Do you?

[anarchia]

Not at all. Though, finding a means to arm ourselves is a different matter.

[They have, what, kitchen utensils? Board games?]

But since they captured us so easily, a struggle is long overdue.

[jiwoonhak]

What's your weapon of choice? [ Ji-Woon ismissing a certain weight in his hand. ] Perhaps I can be of some assistance and help you look.

[anarchia]

So long as it’s a gun in my hand, it doesn’t matter which it is. I expect the weaponry here to be somewhat outdated, anyway.

[No offence, humans.]

Of course, I’d be willing to return the favour, if there’s anything you’re partial to.

[jiwoonhak]

I actually a flair for knife tricks, should we happen to find any throwing knives... [ He laughs, quiet and easy. ] I don't know how much good performative theater would do is if someone in here snaps, though. I say we get a gun in your hand. I think I'd do better hiding behind you.

I’d be inclined to agree.

[Not that he’s too partial to the way he phrased it, but there’s no denying he can take a hit better than anyone here.]

I also have my doubts this will remain a matter of “if”s.
