INTRODUCTION

INTRO
Vault 113

You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!

(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)

The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!

And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!

((The Mastermind will introduce themselves at 7pm EST real time.))

[ Finn...please. Though, there is something to be said of the attempt? Better than nothing. ]

Gentility isn't exactly about looking out for the pregnant women and children, but I do agree it would be good to take note if there's anyone like that here.

Of course, getting the jump on our enemies will work out well for us. I wouldn't be surprised if our captors hope we'll just twiddle our thumbs.

You think? Here I'm hoping they did at least some research on us before the kidnapping bit.

[ but wait doesn't that mean they know he'd try to mess with their plans? so they might be coming up with some counters... SO he should come up with his own counters...? but what are their counters?? augh, circles. ]

Dunno if most of us here are the type to twiddle our thumbs all fancy-like.

I'm hoping they would forego too much proper research, but that's not realistic.

[ Arjuna supposes that it might be too foolish to actually expect their captors to suddenly have a crucial blind spot in their intelligence...alas. ]

I'm thinking that's not exactly the case. Most won't be content to sit around if they're given a good amount of room to roam in a supposed captive situation.

[ ...Maybe? Maybe Arjuna might have too much faith in this lot, though. But, it isn't like he has unnecessarily high expectations on cooperation with every single person just yet. He will need to meet more people to get a better idea of what that might look like. ]

Eh, hoping is human nature, right? Don't blame you for seeing this pain in the ass mess and hoping at least one thing goes in your favor today.

[ 'cause some days you just wake up like that. ]
dharmicrevelation: (🏹o4)

[personal profile] dharmicrevelation 2023-04-10 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Human nature, huh...

Smiling slightly, he gives a nod. ]

That's right. After all, there is nothing to be gained in looking away from a sliver of hope in chaos.

Though, in a situation like this, it'll serve us all well to be grounded.

So far most people here seem pretty grounded. My kid neighbor was freaking out, but he's a kid, so what can ya do?

[ saying all of this like it isn't strange that most people here aren't panicking. ]
dharmicrevelation: (🏹o7)

[personal profile] dharmicrevelation 2023-04-11 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
[ Yeah...normal people would probably be panicking. To be honest, people are probably going panic mode but also giving it their best in hiding it. ]

Not much beyond trying to offer reassurance.

At least, for now. The more we're able to find out about our situation, the easier it may be to keep everyone calm.

[ Depending on the information, but...unknown variables tend to breed more paranoia than not. ]
nambu: (002)

[personal profile] nambu 2023-04-11 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[ despite his earlier words, he adds: ]

Reassurance, sure. It's also helpful to trust kids to make their own decisions too, though. He was freaking out at first, but then pulled himself together.

Think it's pretty common for us to forget we were once that young, too, and what we were already capable of back then.

[personal profile] dharmicrevelation 2023-04-12 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
[ Hmm... ]

And it certainly isn't like we can hold their hand throughout a situation like this.

What you're saying makes sense.
nambu: (013)

[personal profile] nambu 2023-04-12 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. We dunno how this situation will play out. We have... what, around 20-25 people here with us? That's a lot of people to watch out for.

[ or watch out for (negative). ]
dharmicrevelation: (🏹o2)

[personal profile] dharmicrevelation 2023-04-13 10:19 am (UTC)(link)
It certainly is.

But, well, I'll presume that at least most people here will have good sense, and be inclined to work towards a solution.

[ Not counting the, uh...outliers. But, it's fine. The implication is there. ]
nambu: (010)

[personal profile] nambu 2023-04-13 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
What's the closest situation you've ever been in to, uh, something like this?
dharmicrevelation: (🏹28)

[personal profile] dharmicrevelation 2023-04-14 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
...I'm afraid this is the first time I have been in a situation such as this.

[ Nor would he have been happy to have been "kidnapped" by anyone else before. ]

What about yourself?
nambu: (007)

[personal profile] nambu 2023-04-14 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Not the first time I've been taken to a place against my will, but definitely a first seeing so many people in the same position.

[ you hear of mass kidnapping rings or human trafficking rings, but who kidnaps a giant red panda and...? a robot? hold on. ]

Just making sure, but you did see the giant red panda walking around, right? I'm not hallucinating or anything?
dharmicrevelation: (🏹36)

[personal profile] dharmicrevelation 2023-04-15 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
That's unfortunate. Going through this kind of incident again...

[ Perhaps he should check up on Finn later on. He is not overly fond of getting too close to people or entertaining company for long, but...anyway.

That said, times like these I wish Arjuna were a bit of a troll, but he is far too straightlaced for that.

So he just simply shakes his head. ]

No, you're not hallucinating anything. You're not used to that sort of thing? Seeing beings like that walk around?

No? You are?

[ he's not the type to freak out about that sort of thing, but it's still weird. c'mon, arjuna!! ]

[ He'lllll be cracking a little smile at that. ]

I may be simply used to seeing extremely unusual things, such that a walking and talking 'panda' doesn't seem so odd.

Eventually, maybe you will acclimate to even stranger sights.
