INTRODUCTION
You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!
(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)
The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!
And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!
((The Mastermind will introduce themselves at 7pm EST real time.))

Jokes aside, that sure is a statement. Not an unfair conclusion to come to, he supposes, but y'know... ]
I doubt they will do anything like that.
[ Declared as confidently as him stating he received honor roll consistently to a potentially soon-to-be-proud or still-hard-to-please relatives. ]

But huh. Arjuna's confidence does get Theo to glance over from the comic book as he quirks an eyebrow.]
...You sound pretty sure of yourself, for being in the dark as much as the rest of us.
[Despite the words, there's not really much bite behind it; rather than sounding argumentative, it's like he's just making an observation.]

To be clear, my faith isn't based in holding any sort of belief that there is any goodness in our kidnappers' hearts. Rather, it'd be a waste since they've gone through the trouble to bring us here to simply just kill us off immediately.
They must want something more from us. Or at least, that's what I'm inclined to think.
[ Arjuna at the very least does respond calmly, despite everything. ]
no subject
Either way, these are good points and he doesn't really have a particular rebuttal in mind anyhow, what with how little they know about this entire situation. As he deliberates over this a little, there's a short pause as he drops the comic book so he can straighten up and stretch his arms above his head.]
Well, I'll give you that. Still, you figure they'll run out of supplies or food at some point, so they can't keep us here forever.
[right?]

Source: trust me bro ]
Not at all. Incidentally, I doubt their aim is just to keep us in captivity forever.
[ Not pictured, Arjuna and Theoto a few hours from now: ffs ]
They're bound to be looking to use us for some kind of nefarious purpose sooner than later. Though, I'm certain by the end of our 'stay', our kidnappers will regret taking the action that they did.

But no, he's used to resource scarcity being a thing, so unless they're really that valuable to whoever picked them up, it seems like they'd be on a time limit of sorts anyway. Being used is just the cherry on top of the shitty sundae, as far as he's concerned.
But man, this guy really is confident with some of these things, huh. There's an eyebrow raise at that last bit.]
You think someone will come looking?
no subject
It's exactly how a person like him should be. The ideal. ]
Actually, I was assuming we would find a way out on our own.
[ Honestly though, Arjuna does imagine this will not be done without potentially a few casualties from the attempt, but that's natural, right? Though, besides the mild posturing, believing otherwise simply means their captors remain victorious; an unacceptable conclusion. ]
It might be possible someone would come looking, but it'd also be a matter of finding where we are. Considering the resources our enemies have, I doubt we'd be easy to find by others, if at all.
no subject
Yeah, but if they have as many resources as you're saying, that means they're probably prepared for any attempts we'd make to escape, too. [Unless they're really, really stupid?] At minimum, you'd expect some surveillance.
no subject
Oh, of course they are. It'll be foolish to expect them not to be.
[ . . .But, he also has this to add: ]
Regardless, relying on others to break us out here would be a mistake. Even under surveillance, if we're careful and determined enough, we'll find a way to strike back.
no subject
It's not like I was expecting anyone to come looking anyway. Besides, I'm pretty used to fighting without any reinforcements on our side... so it's not like I mind pitching in if someone comes up with a plan. It'll be pretty rough without knowing what we're up against, though.
no subject
Well, at least you have experience having the odds against you.
[ Saying with a huff of wry amusement. There is barely anything good to be found about their situation; interjection of any humor almost stark impolite, but a sliver of optimism isn't impermissible. ]
Our captors will reveal their evil faces to us soon enough. I assume we'll be able to better gauge a further examination of any other abilities they have we would have to contend with. And other advantages, of course.
