INTRODUCTION

INTRO
Vault 113

You wake feeling groggy. You have the distinct sense of oversleeping, even if you may not recall ever going to bed in the first place. And this bed? Definitely not yours, no matter how comfortable it may be. And you'd probably not go to sleep in your street clothes*, right? Well, maybe it's time to smooth out your bedhead and get exploring!

(*or whatever else you were wearing at the last moment you remember)

The first thing you'll notice is the complete absence of windows - are you underground? Though you'll encounter quite a few closed doors, there are some rooms for you to look through and maybe catch your breath in. Maybe it's time for a slushie in the dining room? Impatience won't get you anywhere!

And what's better than a sweet drink to bring strangers together? After all, you're not the only one who's crawled out of bed a little late today. Mingle and don't worry too hard about your current predicament!

((The Mastermind will introduce themselves at 7pm EST real time.))

...can you all stop taking this kidnapping situation like we got taken on a field trip to have a picnic?

[And then she sees the food on the blanket and what not, and she sighs]

Literally?!

[No! Grimmer smiles, unfazed.]

How would you rather we react, then?

Reacting in ways that will lead to getting out of here before sunset -- or sunrise, whatever comes first.

[And as she sees this, having a picnic doesn't work to achieve this. Yeah, Erin has never been the kind of person to just sit back and relax when in a tough situation]

Well, I've already checked the place over pretty thoroughly, so unless you want to try to lockpicking the doors we can't open, I don't see much else we can do at the moment.

[So. Picnic.]

That's exactly what I intended to try now. Have fun -- I'll pick you up when the doors are open.

[And having said that, she goes away.

Who knows how long Grimmer has been here having threads with other people, but Erin returns later]

...fine. Only for some food.

[Needless to say, she didn't succeed at lockpicking anything]

[Yeah while you wasted your time doing all that he was having a great time playing monopoly with a milf.]

Sure! Have whatever you like. I got a lot of different stuff because I was testing out how the diner robot worked.
[He is not here to judge your pointless efforts.]

[Clearly someone here had the right idea, and it wasn't Erin, hah. Let her juuuuust sit down and take something that's probably not healthy food, hah]

So, what's the verdict? Is it real food made from scratch, or will we be eating rehydrated gunk that comes in little spheres like in the movies?

[Grimmer pops what is by now a lukewarm at best tater tot into his mouth.]

I've never eaten war rations so I can't really compare, but it tastes good to me! Maybe it's flash frozen? Then it wouldn't be too difficult for a robot to prepare.

Getting robots to cook for you has been one of humanity's wishes. It's going to be laughable if it's possible and it's used in a post-apocalyptic aesthetic shelter, of all places.

[Erin is the spirit of positive thoughts and good vibes, as Grimmer can clearly see by her foul mood, hah. Not even trying the sweetest stuff she can find seems to improve anything. She's a naturally waspish woman, haha]

It does feel like a weird choice for the theme here. So much of the decor feels dated, even if you're not comparing it to the futuristic robots.

It really makes you wonder what kind of person set this place. A mad historian. A traditionalist homeowner. A fan of vintage.

[She's picturing a senior person, definitely, hah]
