FIRST EXECUTION

Execution 1: an honorable death
Week 1

Did you sleep well last night, satisfied by finding the right answer? Hopefully! Because in the morning, there is Kanon's voice over the intercom. She sounds serious and not up to chatting. There's instructions to meet at the elevator and that's it. No words of greeting, no flourish.

This time, the elevator takes everyone down to yet another unfamiliar room. There is not much to see here but empty walls. You have no choice but to file in and stand around, staring at the massive glass wall that separates your end of the room from the other half. Behind you, Kanon enters, standing silently next to the exit. She doesn't seem like she's going to say anything, but she's observing. There is silence for long enough that you may notice that one of your number is missing...

... and then the door on the other end of the glass wall opens. Gaius enters, looking weak but markedly still alive. He is followed by Ianthe and... Keiichi Maebara, holding... a sword?

Ianthe turns to the group on the other end, giving a sinister smirk.

"Since I don't want any complaining that this is merely a spectator sport with no chance for participation, I've picked Keiichi here to enact the judgment you all have voted on. Go right ahead, kid - you'll do great. And everyone else? Lean back and enjoy the show, maybe next time you'll get to do the honors~"

With that, she disappears from the room and leaves Gaius and Keiichi locked in together. But even without her physical presence it is hard to imagine that she's not watching and listening. This is her stage, and she's the director.

In the scene: a man, a boy, and a sword.

This can only go well.
